Hi Bernie, the definitions come from OpenAlex/Unpaywall. I think this is the right link https://support.unpaywall.org/support/solutions/articles/44001777288-what-do-the-types-of-oa-status-green-gold-hybrid-and-bronze-mean- With processing times, there are lots of things that can be done to speed it up. E.g. fewer rounds of review, tighter deadlines on reviews, sending articles to more reviewers, or simply outsourcing review to an external editor (who might not even review the papers at all - we've certainly seen a lot of retracted special issues where that seems to have happened). All of these things could happen in OA or non-OA journals. The reason I think they *might* happen more in *some* OA journals is the increased focus on author-service.
